Cookie Policy

Last updated 1 November 2026

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on car-games.co.uk, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.

In short

  • Car Games does not set any advertising or tracking cookies of its own.
  • We save a few settings in your own browser so the site remembers your favourites and preferences. They never leave your device.
  • Games and videos come from third parties that may set cookies, but they only load after you choose to play.

What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way, but the information stays in your browser and is not sent to a server with each visit. UK law (PECR) allows a website to use them without asking when they are strictly necessary for something you have asked for. Anything else needs your consent.

What Car Games saves in your browser

We do not use cookies of our own. We use your browser's local storage only for these items:

  • cg-favourites: the games you saved with the heart button, so you can find them on the Favourites page.
  • cg-recent: your last played games, shown on the home page and the Recently played page.
  • cg-theme: your choice of light or dark mode.
  • cg-side: whether the side menu is open or closed.
  • cg-games-consent and cg-games-consent-date: whether you accepted game cookies, and when, so we do not ask you before every game.

Each item stays until you clear it in your browser, or until you withdraw your choice with the button at the end of this page. None of them is sent to us, and none is used for tracking or advertising. They are all strictly necessary for features you choose to use, so they do not need a consent banner.

Cookies from game providers

Games are not loaded until you ask for them. The first time you press Play, we explain that the game comes from a third-party distributor, GameMonetize, which may use cookies or similar technology, for example to show adverts inside the game or to measure how the game performs. The game only loads if you choose "Accept and play". This is covered by the distributor's own privacy policy.

We remember your choice in your browser so that you are not asked on every game. You can withdraw it at any time with the button at the end of this page: you will be asked again the next time you press Play.

Gameplay videos from YouTube

Some game pages show a gameplay video. Until you press its play button, the page only shows a picture stored on our own site, and nothing is loaded from YouTube. When you press play, the video loads from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that moment, YouTube may store cookies or similar data in your browser, as described in Google's privacy policy. Pressing play is your choice for that video only: other videos stay off until you press them too.

Statistics

If we measure visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not track you across other websites.

Advertising

We do not show adverts on our own pages at the moment. If we add them, a consent banner will ask for your permission before any advertising cookies are set, and this page will list them.

How to control and delete cookies

You can see, block and delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, usually under "Privacy" or "Site data". Your browser's help pages explain how:

Blocking them will not stop you playing, but your favourites and recently played games will not be remembered.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever we change the cookies or storage we use. The date at the top always shows the current version.
