Car Driving & Simulator Games

10 free games

Driving games are about the journey rather than the finish line. Instead of racing a grid of rivals, you take on a job or simply explore: drive a London taxi to the next fare, steer a city bus between stops, haul cargo over mountain roads in a heavy truck or empty the bins in a lorry that barely fits down the street. Some of our car simulator games are open worlds where you can go anywhere, get out of the car and explore on foot. Others are focused challenges, like a driving test of cones and marked bays, or a police chase where the only rule is not to stop. What they share is control: every vehicle has weight, every corner needs planning and good driving is rewarded more than raw speed. All of these driving games run free in your browser, with no download and no account, and each one has a guide to its controls and the habits that make you a better driver.

Driving games tap into something most people have wanted to try: taking the wheel of a vehicle you would never normally drive. A bus full of passengers, a lorry on a mountain pass, a London taxi or a 4x4 on rough ground all feel completely different, and learning how each one behaves is the heart of the fun. Without a race to win, you can take your time, enjoy the setting and focus on driving well. Our car driving games cover all of these, from city streets to mountain passes.

The main kinds of driving games

Job simulators

In job simulators you have a task to complete. In London Taxi Driver you pick up passengers at bus stops and follow the GPS to their destination. In Intercity Bus Driver 3D you drive a coach between cities with passengers on board, while Truck Driver Simulator sends you over mountain roads against the clock and Garbage Truck Sim 2020 puts you in charge of the bin round.

Off-road and mixed surfaces

Some driving games are about the ground beneath your wheels. Drive Zone lets you switch between asphalt, rally and 4x4 driving. Truck Cross Country sends an off-road truck through checkpoints beside a river, and Tractor Trial is a physics challenge about keeping a tractor balanced over obstacles.

Chases and challenges

Some driving games are short, focused challenges. Driving Test Simulator asks you to stop in a marked position without touching a cone, Taxi Simulator 3D gives you ten timed passenger missions and School Bus Simulation ends every route with a careful park at the school.

Driving tips that work in every game

  • Brake before corners, not in them. It keeps any vehicle stable, from a car to a lorry.
  • Respect the length of big vehicles. Buses and trucks need to swing wide at junctions.
  • Use the camera. Switching views often makes tricky manoeuvres easier to judge.
  • Smooth beats fast. Most driving games reward clean driving more than speed.

Driving games and real driving

Driving games are a fun way to think about observation, planning and vehicle size, but they are not driving lessons. If you are learning to drive in the UK, use them for entertainment and leave the real preparation to an approved driving instructor. Driving Games: your questions answered

What is the difference between a driving game and a racing game?

A racing game is about finishing first against rivals. A driving game is about the drive itself: completing a job, exploring a map or mastering a vehicle, usually without a race against other cars.

Are these car simulator games realistic?

They aim for a realistic feel, with vehicles that have weight and momentum, but they are browser games with simplified controls and physics. They are made for fun, not as training.

Can driving games help me pass my driving test?

No. They can make you think about observation and manoeuvres, but the controls are nothing like a real car. Book lessons with an approved instructor to prepare for the real test.

Which driving games work on mobile?

Each game page says whether touch controls are supported. Drive Zone and Tractor Trial both have on-screen controls for phones and tablets.
