How We Test and Review Car Games

Last updated 1 November 2026

Every game on Car Games goes through the same publishing checklist. A game page cannot go live until each step below is complete; our publishing system blocks it automatically until then. This page explains what those steps are, so you know what to expect from every game you open here.

1. We choose games for car fans

We only publish car, driving, racing, drifting and parking games. Before a game is shortlisted, we look at its controls, its content and its suitability for a general audience aged 13 and over. Games with graphic violence, gambling mechanics or chat with strangers are not considered.

2. We load it on this site

We load every game on car-games.co.uk itself, not on another website, and check that it starts. Some publishers lock their games to certain websites; when that happens, we remove the game rather than leave a page that does not work. We then keep playing the games over time and correct a page as soon as something in it turns out to be wrong.

3. We check mobile support

We only mark a game as mobile compatible when its developer provides touch controls and the game loads on a phone-sized screen. Games that need a keyboard are clearly labelled "Desktop recommended".

4. We confirm the right to embed it

The games are distributed through GameMonetize, which offers them to websites like ours to embed. We check that each game loads on our site before publishing it, and we credit the developer by name whenever the distributor tells us who made the game.

5. We write the guide ourselves

Each game page has its own guide: what the game is about, how to play, the controls, tips and a FAQ. Guides are written from scratch for this site. We never copy a publisher's description, and we check that no two game pages share the same sentences.

6. An editor reviews the page

Before publication, an editor checks the guide against the developer's own instructions and the game itself: are the controls right, are the tips sensible, is anything missing or misleading? If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.

7. We keep pages up to date

Games change. When a developer updates a game, or a reader tells us something is wrong, we play it again and update the page. The date at the bottom of each game page shows when it was last updated, and the "How we tested" box shows the checks it has passed.

Spotted a problem?

If a game does not load, the controls have changed or a guide is wrong, please tell us through our contact page. We read every message and fix confirmed problems as quickly as we can. You can also read how we keep play simple and safe on our Safe Play page.
